Kilmullen Livery
Kilmullen Livery is owned by the Bourke family and is located between Kilcoole and Newtownmountkennedy in Co.Wicklow
We are a family run livery yard which is set on 150 acres of land overlooking Druids Glen and Newcastle.
Our full livery business has evolved over the years due to increasing demand and we pride ourselves on the facilities that we provide.
Our flood lit arena is 60 x 40 with an excellent surface that was researched thoroughly before we made our final decision and we are delighted that even in the heaviest of rain the arena has never flooded. There is a full set of show jumps in the arena with fillers and water trays for you to build your own course or to set up a grid.
We have 28 cross country jumps in place across the land. These include coffin jumps, natural ditches, some skinnies, a slip and gate rail for the pony club, logs, drops, banks, stream jumps, steps, hills and tyres.
Due to the amount of land we have, this enables us to provide extensive turnout all year round. Our fields are segregated into large paddocks – 2 horses per paddock and our turnout is 7am-3pm during the Winter months and 7am-5pm during the Summer. Each horse is an individual and some prefer a shorter turnout than others which is not an issue. We will bring your horse in at an earlier time if you wish.
We use Gain Horse Feeds for our hard feed and our haylage is made on the farm which is of the highest quality. We get our soil tested every year and have had consistently high results of excellent soil quality.
Our clients range from competitive to non- competitive riders so there is something for everyone. We are only a 40 minute drive/tow from Barnadown Showjumping in Co. Wexford, 20 minutes from Spruce Lodge and 10 minutes from Boswell Equestrian. HSI instructors Paul Kilbride and Sandra McCracken are available to give private lessons. Dirk Van Der Elst an Olympic rider from Belgium comes over annually to teach a clinic which has become very popular.
Kilmullen is our home and we live on site so there is always someone there. The atmosphere in the yard is a happy one and this shows in the horses.
